We're an out-of-network, cash-pay practice. Every price is on this page. No hidden codes, no surprise EOBs, no "call to find out." Many clients still get partial reimbursement through their out-of-network benefits — we'll show you how.
(And why that's better for you.)
Insurance-based PT is built around insurance, not patients. The 15-minute appointments, the techs running half the session, the protocols dictated by what billing codes are reimbursable — none of that is what you actually want, and none of it is good for outcomes. We chose to opt out of that system. Here's what that looks like in practice:
PT sessions are one hour, one-on-one with Adrien. In-person at our Rochester clinic, or virtually for New York State residents. Same flat rate whether you're a rower, a runner, post-op, or someone who tweaked their back lifting kids.
A full hour with Adrien. Range of motion, strength, the injury itself, and your technique if you row. You leave with a written treatment plan, an honest timeline, and a clear answer about whether what you came in for is fixable.
Subsequent treatment sessions. Same length, same one-on-one attention. Most clients need 3–8 sessions depending on the condition; we'll set expectations during your evaluation.
Most PT clients use a combination of out-of-network insurance reimbursement and HSA/FSA cards to offset cost. The next section explains how.
We don't bill your insurance directly. Instead, we give you a superbill — an itemized receipt with the diagnostic and procedure codes your insurance needs. You submit it to your insurance, and they reimburse you based on your plan's out-of-network PT benefit. Many clients get a meaningful portion back; some get most of it; coverage varies by plan.
Flat session fee. No insurance back-and-forth, no surprise bills, no prior authorizations.
An itemized receipt with diagnostic codes (ICD-10) and procedure codes (CPT) — the same codes any in-network PT would submit.
Your insurance applies your out-of-network deductible and reimburses whatever your plan allows. We'll help you figure out what to expect before you book.
A short script you can use when you call your insurance to check your out-of-network PT benefits — the exact questions to ask, the codes we use, and how to interpret the answers.
"Rowing on the Square is out-of-network for my insurance; Adrien helped me with paperwork so I could submit charges to my insurance (not all policies have OON coverage, but mine did). She is curious, thoughtful, and great fun to work with. I actually look forward to PT!"
"Stellar top quality physical therapy services are provided here. Adrien is extremely knowledgeable and a great educator. A very thorough analysis and training program were provided which put me in a much better place. I highly recommend Rowing on the Square Physical Therapy."
"Adrien is great to work with. She has a wealth of expertise in physical therapy and rowing as well. She has improved my physical issues, conditioning, and rowing technique."
