Pricing & insurance

Specialty rowing-informed care. Transparent pricing. No insurance surprises.

We're an out-of-network, cash-pay practice. Every price is on this page. No hidden codes, no surprise EOBs, no "call to find out." Many clients still get partial reimbursement through their out-of-network benefits — we'll show you how.

Why concierge

Why we're not in-network.

(And why that's better for you.)

Insurance-based PT is built around insurance, not patients. The 15-minute appointments, the techs running half the session, the protocols dictated by what billing codes are reimbursable — none of that is what you actually want, and none of it is good for outcomes. We chose to opt out of that system. Here's what that looks like in practice:

Traditional in-network PT
Time per session
15–30 minutes, often shared with other patients or aides
Who you see
Often techs and assistants between brief PT visits
Scheduling
Often booked 4–8 weeks out, limited slots
Focus
Generic protocols required by insurance billing codes
Sport-specific care
Rare — most PTs don't row or coach rowing
Cost transparency
Hidden until the EOB arrives — and often a surprise
Paperwork
Insurance billing, prior auths, denials, appeals
Rowing on the Square
Time per session
One full hour, one-on-one with Adrien
Who you see
Always Adrien — Doctor of Physical Therapy, every minute
Scheduling
Typically same week, including evenings as needed
Focus
Custom plan built around your body and your sport
Sport-specific care
Built into every session (USRowing Level 3 Coach + DPT)
Cost transparency
Posted publicly on this page. No surprises.
Paperwork
Flat session fee. Superbill provided for your records.

Physical Therapy Pricing

PT sessions are one hour, one-on-one with Adrien. In-person at our Rochester clinic, or virtually for New York State residents. Same flat rate whether you're a rower, a runner, post-op, or someone who tweaked their back lifting kids.

Initial Evaluation

$219 · 1 hour · In-person or virtual (NY only)

A full hour with Adrien. Range of motion, strength, the injury itself, and your technique if you row. You leave with a written treatment plan, an honest timeline, and a clear answer about whether what you came in for is fixable.

Follow-up Session

$219 · 1 hour · In-person or virtual (NY only)

Subsequent treatment sessions. Same length, same one-on-one attention. Most clients need 3–8 sessions depending on the condition; we'll set expectations during your evaluation.

Most PT clients use a combination of out-of-network insurance reimbursement and HSA/FSA cards to offset cost. The next section explains how.

Insurance & HSA

How insurance and HSA work with us.

We don't bill your insurance directly. Instead, we give you a superbill — an itemized receipt with the diagnostic and procedure codes your insurance needs. You submit it to your insurance, and they reimburse you based on your plan's out-of-network PT benefit. Many clients get a meaningful portion back; some get most of it; coverage varies by plan.

01

You pay us directly at the session.

Flat session fee. No insurance back-and-forth, no surprise bills, no prior authorizations.

02

We give you a superbill.

An itemized receipt with diagnostic codes (ICD-10) and procedure codes (CPT) — the same codes any in-network PT would submit.

03

You submit to your insurance.

Your insurance applies your out-of-network deductible and reimburses whatever your plan allows. We'll help you figure out what to expect before you book.

Want the Insurance Reimbursement Worksheet?

A short script you can use when you call your insurance to check your out-of-network PT benefits — the exact questions to ask, the codes we use, and how to interpret the answers.

Just ask us in the chat. Click the chat bubble in the bottom-right corner and say you'd like the Insurance Reimbursement Worksheet. We'll send the PDF straight back to you.
We accept HSA and FSA debit cards directly. If your card is declined, we'll provide receipts for manual reimbursement through your HSA/FSA portal.

Common questions

Pricing & insurance questions

Do you take my insurance?
We're out-of-network for all insurance plans, so we don't bill insurance directly. We give you a superbill that you submit to your insurance for out-of-network reimbursement. Use the Insurance Reimbursement Worksheet above to check what your specific plan covers before you book.
Can I use my HSA or FSA card?
Yes — we accept HSA and FSA debit cards directly at checkout. PT, rowing performance evaluations, video consultations, and most program purchases are typically HSA/FSA-eligible. If your card is declined, we'll provide receipts for manual reimbursement.
Why don't you take insurance?
Because being in-network would force us to deliver care the way insurance billing codes require — short sessions, generic protocols, lots of paperwork, rotating providers. We chose the cash-pay model so we can give you a full hour every time, build the plan around you instead of around what's reimbursable, and stay focused on the outcomes that actually matter.
How many sessions will I need?
Depends on the condition. Most PT clients are in the 3–8 session range; some need fewer, some need more. We'll give you an honest timeline at the end of your evaluation, and we'll never over-prescribe to drag things out.
What's your cancellation policy?
We ask for 24 hours notice on cancellations so we can offer the slot to someone else. Late cancellations and no-shows are charged the full session fee. Life happens — we're reasonable about emergencies.
Do you offer payment plans?
Not currently for individual sessions. For the higher-investment programs (Sprint Cohort and 1:1 Coaching Program) we're happy to discuss payment structure on your strategy call — just ask.

"Rowing on the Square is out-of-network for my insurance; Adrien helped me with paperwork so I could submit charges to my insurance (not all policies have OON coverage, but mine did). She is curious, thoughtful, and great fun to work with. I actually look forward to PT!"
